What is Debadging?

Debadging is the process of removing manufacturer’s logos, emblems, decals, stripes, vinyl, tapes, and/or graphics to give a vehicle a clean, sleek look.

Some car owners see debadging as defacing their property while other owners may want to show off how much they’ve spent on their vehicle.

Benefits of debadging a vehicle

  • Visual Attraction: Some people prefer not to have any logos on their paint giving them an uninterrupted surface on their vehicle. Badges detract from the lines and curves of a car.
  • Curiosity: Several people who debadge their vehicle like having people second guess the make and model of their car.
  • Cover up the Value of the Vehicle: Certain people don’t like to show-off that they drive an expensive vehicle, and decide to remove the badges.
  • No Advertising: Certain people don’t like the idea of promoting the manufacturer utilizing their own vehicle without any compensation.
  • Maintenance: When washing a vehicle, water gets trapped in badges and stickers, making it a tad bit more difficult when applying wax or sealant onto your paint. In addition, emblems collect dust and dirt which can create an unwanted appearance
