Exceptional 2 Step Paint Correction (Buffing) Services in Los Angeles

An excellent service to remove imperfections and enhance your gloss.

Remove up to 90% of paint defects and Enhance Gloss

If your vehicle has light/moderate scratches, swirl marks, or other defects, our 2-step paint correction can remove up to 90% of those imperfections. In this process, we use a medium “compound and polish” in order to restore your paint.

We do our best to remove those light to medium scratches, but some scratches are deeper than others. When a scratch has gone beyond the clear coat, we won’t be able to remove it. A simple way to determine if a scratch is too deep is the nail test. Simply drag your fingernail (not too hard) across the length of the scratch. If your nail catches, this means the scratch has gone past the clear coat. If your fingernail encounters no resistance, it means the scratch is only surface-deep and can be easily fixed.

Before we begin a 2-step paint correction, we utilize a paint coating thickness gauge in order to determine if it’s safe enough to proceed. We gather between 5-6 readings per panel in order to get an average. If the average reading is above a specific amount, we can proceed. If it’s less, we’ll let you know we cannot proceed since we can cause even more damage.

Believe it or not, the majority of new vehicles being sold today are given to customers with scratches on them and can possibly require a 2-step paint correction. This is due to transportation, wiping, harsh brushing, dealerships improper methods of washing, etc. This applies to all makes, models, and including vehicles from the showroom floor!

Proper maintenance following paint correction allows you to keep your vehicle unscratched and glossy. By simply giving us a call and scheduling a weekly or bi-weekly Premium Wash, you ensure that your exterior will always be in tip top condition. If you decide to go elsewhere for your maintenance washes, please be sure to stay away from cheap car washes.

Price is another thing to consider. A proper 2-step paint correction is expensive. If you find a detailer that is charging you cheap, I recommend running for the hills as fast as possible. Either that detailer is inexperienced that they’re willing to work practically for free or they’re saving time by cutting corners (could use fillers which will fall off after a few washes and/or might abuse your paint job). Our service includes our Wash & Wax! Any vehicle we perform a paint correction needs a clay bar service due to the contaminants embedded into the clear coat. Removing the contaminants will give us a clean surface to work on in order to start removing the light imperfections evenly throughout your paint.

Our 2-step Paint Correction Process

  1. Clean tires, wheels, and fenders with different brushes to reach tight areas.
  2. Rinse vehicle utilizing deionized water (prevents hard water spots).
  3. Apply soap with foam cannon to the entire exterior of the vehicle.
  4. Wash vehicle in straight lines starting from top, middle, and bottom. We also clean the gas cap, door jams, and remove bugs off from the front of your vehicle (including side mirrors).
  5. Remove any iron and hidden contaminants from the paint which can lead to paint to fade.
  6. Clay bar paint to remove any stubborn contaminants (makes your paint feel really smooth).
  7. Examine paint and utilize a paint coating thickness gauge on each panel in order to determine if it’s safe enough to proceed.
  8. Apply painter’s tape to non-paint areas to avoid polish buildup or staining.
  9. Stage 1: Correction Stage (Compound)
Carefully remove light/moderate wash scratches, swirls, and defects up to 90%.
  10. Stage 2: Polishing Stage
Polish to enhance gloss and clarity along with oxidation.
  11. Wipe down paint to remove polishing oils along with painter’s tape from vehicle.
  12. Apply sealant to paint or ceramic coating (at an additional price).
  13. Clean exterior glass and windows.
  14. Apply tire dressing to make them shine (they’ll be dry to avoid slinging) along with conditioning trim and plastic.
  15. Clean up emblems, exhaust tips, grille, etc.
  16. Final Inspection in case we missed an area or there’s room for improvement.

Our 2-step paint correction is a prolonged and slow process. A lot of time and energy is spent on the car – Both mentally and physically. Depending on the size and the condition of the vehicle, it can take 10-24 hours to complete. When a vehicle has a hard, clear coat, it’s very time consuming as opposed to a soft, clear coat.

Don’t let your interior feel left out. Complement your exterior with an Interior Rejuvenation to give your car a spotless, brand-new look and feel!

Paint Polishing FAQ

Do you come to me?

That really depends on you. Maintenance is the key factor to upkeep. If you take your vehicle back for a cheap car wash, you’ll have your car scratched within a matter of weeks or even sooner! After we have completed our job, we consult our customers on how to properly maintain the vehicle clean, but it does take time and a little work

Do you offer ceramic coatings?

Absolutely! We offer a 2 years ceramic coating protection or 5 years ceramic coating protection (dual coat application) at an additional price.

Is there a difference between wax and paint correction?

Wax provides protection on your paint from minor environmental hazards, such as UV rays, dust, rain, and other contaminants. Whereas a paint correction removes a thin layer of clear coat, eliminating swirls and scratches. This is what gives your vehicle shine like no other.

What equipment do you use?

We utilize various buffing machines, pads, compounds, polishes, diluted isopropyl alcohol, towels, lights, etc. Not every vehicle will require us to use every item as every car has unique issues in different areas.

What is Ceramic Coating?
